Sarah Grausz

Leadership Coach

Who I coach: I coach highly-motivated people and teams undergoing periods of transformation and realignment. I specialize in unpacking power and privilege leading to more authentic, redeeming relationships at work and outside of work. My clients are at every stage of their careers, and the majority of my clients are leaders from tech, academia, and social sectors. I coach 1:1 and in groups of up to 14.

How I coach: I support you to achieve your goals by creating a safe space for curiously exploring and disarming the inner critic voices, while deepening authentic connection to self and others. I hold my clients in the utmost positive regard -- I know they already have all of the answers they are seeking. I listen attentively and I ask empowering questions to enable them to come to the answers on their own, and to commit to actions forwarding their progress.

Why I coach: Coaching has helped me so much in my own life: to advance in my career, to navigate courageous conversations with colleagues and supervisors, to interrogate my own privilege and power, and to create fulfilling relationships. I've seen its impact on those I work with, too. People I coach are more confident, motivated, self-aware, and able to balance work and non-work priorities.

Who am I? White, cisgender, pronouns she/her/hers. I'm a mother. I'm a Gemini, an extroverted sensor and an introverted thinker. I was born in Seattle. I have lived and worked on four continents, and now call Oakland, CA home. I listen to a lot of podcasts, currently on heavy rotation: The Daily, The Michelle Obama Podcast, Nice White Parents, Code Switch, Unf*ck Your Brain, Unlocking Us.

I volunteer as a coach with The Coaching Fellowship and the Oakland Public Education Fund. I am a certified professional coach from the ICF-accredited Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, and an Energy Leadership Index® Master Practitioner. I hold a Master’s of Science in Organization Development from American University.

"Sarah is a gifted coach and I recommend her to anyone interested in setting & achieving stretch goals – be it in their professional career and relationships, or in their family or spiritual life. Sarah’s gift is her ability to push me out of my comfort zone, and at the same time show deep respect for my process. She always gets my buy-in before we decide on an action, and she checks in with me frequently to ensure that our coaching is meeting my objectives."

"Thank you so much for an amazing experience. I was so impressed with your ability to establish a trusting connection remotely! You were always positive and supportive, assertive when needed. You asked great questions and always kept me moving past thinking towards doing. Looking back, I can’t believe how much ground we covered and how much you helped me to clarify. Thank you so much!"

"I really value how Sarah listened deeply and helped me talk through things to get at the root causes of a scarcity mindset. I felt like in a short amount of time we were able to build trust, and I felt like I could be open and honest without any judgement. She’s helped me grow in being more self-aware of my thoughts and body language, be more intentional, and shift to a more abundant mindset."
