Coach William

Elite Hoops Basketball Academy is the labor of love of its Founder, local professional basketball standout and three sport athlete, William Jenkins.  A Glendale, WI native, (Moved to Prosper, TX 2019) William began garnering athletic accolades early in his life, culminating in being named to his alma mater High School Hall of Fame for his academic and athletic achievements in basketball, volleyball, and baseball.  Following high school, William was awarded a four-year full scholarship to play at Men’s basketball powerhouse Valparaiso University where he was an integral starting member of the Cinderella team that prevailed in one of the most famous NCAA Men's Basketball tournament games of all time resulting in the ESPY award nominated ’The Shot' Valpo vs Ole Miss.’  Continuing his basketball prowess after graduating college with a degree in Business & Psychology, William played professional basketball in Europe. Today, you can find William coaching his children in multiple sports and helping young athletes to learn, develop and master basketball fundamentals.

What People are Saying About ELITE HOOPS SKILLS & DRILLS
'...I just wanted to follow up with a huge thank you! Blake was so nervous before class because he hasn't ever played before and thought the hoop was too high but he had an absolute blast in class yesterday. The skills were spot on and your teaching method is just fantastic! You made him so comfortable and so excited to play. He can't wait to see you again on Sunday.'

This was Brody’s first-ever basketball experience and it was fantastic!  He had a great time and is looking forward to taking skills camps this summer to improve.  I observed that your coaching style was very motivating.  You also took into account the inherent sensitivities of boys at this age and what kind of feedback they need to stay optimistic and happy about the game.  Sports have a lot of distractions to deal with these days and I appreciate the time, effort, energy, and passion you put into your coaching.  Brody would love to continue to be a part of the team. It was a very positive experience for him.

Coaching Review

Thank YOU so much for a great season.  You were such an organized leader. I loved that you had a schedule for practices and kept the kids moving. You also made practice fun by including games. First impressions are huge for kids. Your love for basketball is contagious and you have made such a positive first impression in my kids' lives of this sport. You’ve taught them about being a good athlete and working on their skills.

Thank You!

William is a great coach and a great friend. He’s compassionate, kind, and treats kids fairly and equally. His knowledge of the game is top notch and he’s able to teach boys at their level with a positive attitude. He doesn’t punish for mistakes and relates well to others. My son loves being coached by him. 11/11/2020
