The transition to President and CEO of NewBridge represented a new opportunity for me, but also a serious responsibility to the organization and the Board. Jill helped me make the transition into thinking more deeply about a role I had not had before and she challenged me to develop new ways of leading people and being accountable to both the staff and the Board. Over a six month period, Jill engaged me to discuss the organization and its staff in depth, and guided me to a point where I was more comfortable and able to think about how to share my thoughts and strategies with my partners, my Board and the staff. In addition, Jill helped my personal development and pushed me to review all of my workplace interactions, and make substantive changes in how I engage with the staff and then provide them the clear feedback and guidance they wanted from me.

Jill uses her deep experience in talent management to target strategies for the organization. Over the (nearly 10) years that I worked with Jill, we used industry best tools as well as some that Jill custom developed. Examples range from individual leadership assessments, team effectiveness, organizational strategy and design, retention planning, and diversity strategies. If Jill did not already have a solution in her toolkit, she developed one. I particularly appreciated how Jill could customize leadership training for our top talent using a combination of leading tools, industry thought leaders, and internal expertise. And as a 360 coach to members of my leadership team, Jill provided direct and impactful feedback which had a notable impact on performance.

I am fortunate to have worked with Jill as she coached me through a formalized Change Management Process. Our company had gone through 4 years in implementing an ERP system where we not only had technical issues with our system but also employee acceptance of an ERP system. Jill was able to coach me through a Change Management Process that on the surface looks like common sense but in reality our company struggled with the understanding the human aspect of change. Jill taught me that successful change leaders and companies understand their employees desire for change. I always concentrated on telling employees why we needed to change. Jill was able to take this a step further with teaching me to understand employees desires for change.  Jill also reinforced the importance celebrating the success factors from change management. I was always focused on fixing the problems we had. Jill was able to point out how positive reinforcement was as important as fixing what was broken. The training Jill provided for Change Management not only helped with getting better acceptance of our ERP system, Jill has taught me I can apply these principles in my everyday activity here in creating change.
