Before getting language coaching I had no idea what to expect and, to make things worth, I wasn't even entirely sure what I wanted out of it! I just knew I felt a little lost with how to transition from intermediate to advanced in terms of getting comfortable with that (arbitrary-feeling labelling) emotionally as well as knowing how to change my approach to propel my journey into language learning at an "advanced" level.
At the back of my mind, I also knew there was the gnawing idea of branching out to start with a new language as well.
I liked that the conversations were relaxed and conversational. I felt like I could just open up about my vulnerabilities and my strengths (the latter of which I find more difficult to talk about/"admit" to), which allowed us to talk in depth about what techniques I could try and also more broadly about ways to approach language learning philosophically. At the same time, none of the conversation ever felt dry or complex.

I felt like I could just spill my thoughts and we worked together to put things in a clearer order to reassess and move forward.
I don't think anyone should go into language coaching expecting it to be like a class which, once complete, leads to levelling up. It's more of a discussion to refocus what you want out of your language and to see whether you're using the most effective methods for you to get what you want from your language.

Obviously I have also benefitted from the obvious concrete things like resources and techniques, but sometimes there's also a quiet gnawing need for clarity that just comes about from having to answer the right questions and Kerstin was great at finding which questions would allow me to bring about those answers. I would also say that language coaching is very much what you make it and what you choose to do with it. Kerstin is able to help you aim at a direction and give you advice about possible ways to get there, but it's ultimately about where you want to go and what you want to do and being honest with yourself about what you're willing and able to do. I found Kerstin's language coaching sessions very valuable and I would definitely recommend her to other language learners. I would also suggest that language learners bring all their questions and concerns and ideas to really unpack their thoughts and to get them excited about taking their language learning to the next level or in new directions (or both!).

I wanted to thank you for the session, I got so much out of it! It shifted my perspective on a few crucial things and helped me appreciate the impact that certain issues have on my learning. I still need to turn the ideas into habits and I'm a million times more excited about learning Japanese now!

You may opt to add language tutoring in German or English after discussing it with me in our initial session. I am an experienced language tutor particularly for coaching students to exam success and supporting busy adult learners. All tutoring sessions will be set up to support your own self-guided efforts, but can hugely enhance your progress. So if it's reviews of your writing, speaking practice, and selected, targeted language lessons you are after, let's talk.

Language tutoring cannot currently be booked separately from my standard coaching packages.
You will think about your language studies and current level in a new way.

You will be guided through a reflective review process to understand your current working methods, and how they can work better for you.

We'll create a system that makes language learning fun and effective for you, and support you with some awesome resources that will keep you repeating and learning more words than ever before.

You can see my Terms and Conditions at www.fluentlanguage.co.uk/terms-and-conditions

The most common question concerns cancellations:
I accept and reschedule missed session with 24 hours' notice. In the unlikely event that I don't hear from you about your cancellation within 24 hours before the scheduled session, I reserve the right to charge the lesson without rescheduling. But I will always do my best to accommodate your needs.

We are going to connect via video chat using one of two software packages: Zoom and Skype. By now, you've already spoken to me on a test call so we know that the technology holds up.

If you're booking regular session slots, I'll be putting our "Zoom Room" details into the Google Drive folder so you have them on hand.

If you're looking for my Skype username, it's fluentlanguage.
