Your Canine Athlete Specialist

Imagine knowing how to better prepare your dog's body for the physical demands of training and competition - helping them become stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for their sport.

I am a Certified Canine Athlete Specialist (CCAS), Canine Myofascial Release Practitioner (CMFR), IGP Trainer and IGP Judge.

But perhaps more importantly, I understand the sporting dog handler.

I own, train and compete with working dogs and understand that your dog is not simply a pet. They are athletes, and the physical demands of sport require more than skill training alone.

Having first-hand experience of the strength, power, coordination and physical resilience required for impact and protection sports, my work is designed to complement your existing sport training, not replace it.

I help handlers learn to better read their dog's body, recognise where weaknesses or imbalances may be developing, and use purposeful strength and conditioning exercises that fit realistically into their existing training schedule.

The goal is simple: to help you build a stronger, more capable sporting dog who is physically prepared for the work you are asking them to do.

Considering a program? Let's talk about your dog, your sport and what you are currently working towards, I would love to meet you.

You guys are the best!

I was so impressed by her passion to help clients, her knowledge, and her ability to connect with her clients and their dogs. It’s because of her that I now look at dogs with a different eye and have been serious about conditioning my dogs on a daily basis. Angela is extremely caring and attentive to what each dog needs, what their limits are (let’s face it, some dogs don’t like people hanging over them and touching them) and how far she can push the owners to be able to see and work on the issues . She encouraged and motivated each and every person in the seminar and had a fantastic way of engaging everyone. She had a very nice balance of theory and practical training where each dog got assessed and where the entire group got involved in the discussion. She changed my ways of looking at dogs forever and i’m extremely grateful for that! It shows that obviously, you can learn an "old dog" new tricks.

I would absolutely recommend the program.

You get plenty of information about why/how and what. Together with personal feedback on how to improve. But for me, this would have zero value without the personal feedback. And the feedback is given in the best way possible- going through the videos step by step. With a very passionate Angla showing, telling and drawing to explain what is happening, why it is and if it is good/bad and how to improve.

A key part of our dog sport journey is finding the right people to work with. It’s no exaggeration to say that Angela Ahern has totally altered my approach to training!

Her strengthening & conditioning programs—which once seemed novel—are now an absolutely indispensable component of my training regimen!

I have witnessed my dog Broca’s physique & stamina undergo a complete transformation.

I can attest without hesitation that any success I (and Broca) have achieved would not have been possible without Angela’s help. And, just as importantly, Angela’s programs are fun and enhance my relationship with my dog—Broca is crazy to “go to the gym!”

I have learned a lot from strength training about my dog. It has improved his resilience to injury, made him more able to readily control parts of his body and strengthened parts that needed improvement. All this enhances his ability to perform in IGP.

The strength training must be tailored to the sport he is doing - that is where Angela shines.

So many people have commented on Joker’s body - how much it has changed.

And he seems to have benefited for IGP - the jumping was always good, but he is clearing the jump by 12 inches - it looks crazy!
