I’m Naomi. Script consultant, screenplay contest judge, and former development exec-in-training at Madonna and Guy Oseary's Maverick Films, where I worked on projects like Twilight, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, and The Stanford Prison Experiment. I’ve lived and worked in L.A. for over a decade, read thousands of scripts and worked with hundreds of writers through one-on-one consulting and teaching story structure for Save the Cat.
I’m also a screenwriter, on this journey just like you. I’ve been hired to write and rewrite screenplays, treatments, pitch documents, and director’s statements. I've written projects for producers in the U.S., Taiwan and Australia, and consulted on the 2016 Raindance Film Festival "Indie Film of the Year" winner, Selling Isobel.

Here's what writers say about working with me:
"The Dragon and the Fairy made it to the Semi-Finals (top 10) for the Enderby award at Austin Film Festival. The Memory Thief is currently a Finalist (top 5) for the Horror/Thriller Category. It's all very exciting and makes me super grateful for you and your help."

"Naomi is brilliant. I had worked with a few consultants and writers on my script and received the usual notes, some loose ideas of how to plus it a bit, and plenty of kind assurances – but still felt like it needed work. While working with Naomi, she was able to identify at least three key problems with my structure that I hadn’t even considered and no one else saw. With each note it was like a light went on. I couldn’t wait to jump on the computer and get to writing. She listened carefully to my goals, and was able to recommend several ways to fix the script so it was true to my original intention, and make it more accessible to my audience. She has a honed instinct for story and a keen insight into the practical realities of the market. She is now my number one go-to for every script I’m working on. I can’t recommend her enough."
"I've worked with Naomi Beaty (Write + Co.) for over 8 years on a variety of writing projects such as feature screenplays, shorts, and treatments. Having written over 20 projects in my career, I have hired multiple consultants to improve my craft and polish projects. I return to Naomi for her straightforward, in-depth, dedicated, and balanced approach.
I find Naomi uniquely qualified to examine a script's skeleton, but then pull back to utilize her industry experience and determine the overall scope. She is willing to truthfully explore with a client, the project's commercial appeal versus indie sensibility; the tone of the marketplace; and industry developments. Naomi brings a calm, firm, thoughtful approach to her analysis. Never harsh, but always strong. Never overly reactive, but appreciate of a story's emotional potential. She is dedicated to "story," but understands "movies" and Hollywood."

"It’s always a gamble when you begin working with a consultant. The trick is to find one who can objectively deconstruct what you think you’ve written, and then show you what you’ve actually written. Someone who understands your voice and helps clarify it, helping the writer weave together an emotionally compelling story with rich, dimensional, complex characters and meaningful themes. Naomi is that kind of consultant.
Objectivity has always been a struggle when I find myself deep within the maze of my own narrative architecture. Naomi’s diligent attention to plot, character and theme always provides me with a way out, saving me precious time, money and frustration. Through her consultation and feedback, always insightful, constructive and positive, I can honestly say she has made me a better screenwriter. If you’re a writing veteran or wet behind the Hollywood ears beginner, I would highly recommend Naomi’s services."
