The Encore ID Program (7 Weeks, Live)
This is the most structured way to build real Instructional Design skills — not by watching videos alone, but by doing the work, live, with feedback from me each step of the way.
Over 7 weeks, you’ll move through the same process working Instructional Designers use everyday: defining a real training problem, analyzing stakeholder needs, designing objectives grounded in learning theory, building an actual module, and evaluating whether it worked. Every stage is built around one goal — giving you the language to sit across from a stakeholder, identify what they actually need, and propose a training solution with confidence.
Because I run this personally alongside a demanding full-time job, cohorts are small and intake is quarterly - so the feedback stays real. I open enrolment for this course: it opens four times a year, seats are limited to keep the feedback personal, and once a cohort fills or closes, the next chance is months away.
Inside the course you’ll:
- Learn to elicit needs from stakeholders and translate them into a scoped training plan
- Apply adult learning theory (Bloom’s Taxonomy, cognitivism, constructivism) to defend your design choices in plain language
- Build a real training module and put it through a professional QA and evaluation process
- Walk away with a portfolio piece — not just for your portfolio site, but one built specifically to attach to a post-interview thank-you note, so you stand out after the interview is already over
This is where you translate your teaching experience to practice and upskill to a designer — where“I used to explain things to students” becomes “I identify performance gaps and design training solutions for stakeholders.”
